Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Motam Woodworks Limited ("we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10275908, with our registered office at 87 Bramble Road, Hatfield, England, AL10 9SB. These Terms & Conditions apply to your purchase of any products from us, whether ordered through our website, by email, or by phone. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

2. Placing an order

You must be 18 or over to purchase from us. A contract between us is only formed once we've received your payment and sent you an order acknowledgement email - until that point, we may decline an order (for example, if an item is unexpectedly unavailable, there's a pricing error, or there's a problem taking payment).

3. Our products

We sell three types of product, and the terms below apply a little differently to each:

  • Ready-made items - chopping boards, candle holders, and similar pieces, made and ready to ship.

  • Bespoke and made-to-order items - commissioned furniture and custom CNC signs, made specifically to your requirements after you order.

  • 3D-printed workshop accessories - tool mounts, jigs, and adaptors, generally made to stock or to order depending on the item.

Because our furniture and signs are handmade from natural wood, every piece is unique. Variations in grain, colour, and small natural features like knots are normal characteristics of solid wood, not faults - see section 7.

4. Price and payment

All prices are shown in GBP and include everything payable except delivery, which is shown separately at checkout. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. Payment is taken in full at the time of order, using the payment methods shown at checkout.

5. Delivery

See our Delivery Information page for full details on timeframes and costs. In summary: we deliver to UK mainland and Northern Ireland directly through this website; international delivery is available for 3D-printed goods only, through our eBay store.

For bespoke and made-to-order items (commissioned furniture and custom signs), delivery timescales will be discussed and agreed with you separately before your order is confirmed, based on the specific piece and current workload.

6. Your right to cancel

Ready-made and stock items: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to cancel for any reason, without needing to give a reason. To cancel, contact us at info@motam.co.uk. You'll need to return the item at your own cost, in the condition you received it - we may deduct an amount from your refund if the item shows signs of use beyond what's needed to check it. Refunds exclude any non-standard (expedited) delivery charge you chose.

Bespoke, made-to-order, and personalised items: because these are made specifically for you (commissioned furniture and custom signs), the 14-day change-of-mind right does not apply once production has started, in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013's exemption for personalised goods. If you'd like to cancel a bespoke order, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate a cancellation before work begins, but can't guarantee this once your piece is in production.

This doesn't affect your right to a refund, repair, or replacement if an item arrives faulty or not as described - see section 7.

7. Faulty or damaged goods

All items are covered by a 12-month guarantee against defects in workmanship or materials. This doesn't cover normal wear and tear, natural movement or seasonal changes in solid wood, damage from neglect or misuse, or accidental damage after delivery. If your item is faulty, contact us at info@motam.co.uk with a description and photos where possible - we'll repair, replace, or refund at our discretion. This is in addition to, and doesn't affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Use of trade names and trademarks

Some products reference third-party brands, franchises, or trademarks (for identification purposes - for example, compatibility with a specific tool brand, or a themed design). Any such use is for identification and reference only and does not imply endorsement by, or association with, the trademark holder.

9. Our liability

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or acting without reasonable care, but not for losses that aren't foreseeable, or for any loss relating to business use (we only sell to consumers). Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so - including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; changes apply to orders placed after the update, not retrospectively to orders already confirmed.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
