This is an alternative to the Robert Sorby knife jig which uses the clamp and bar.
This key benefits of this Jig:
1) It's quicker and easier to setup, saving you time.
2) Provides an accurate and consistent angle
3) Repeatability, once setup you can sharpen several knives.
4) Simpler to use compared to the clamp style
Choice of 5 Angles:
- 15 degree is more commonly found on Japanese style knives (very sharp edge, less edge durability)
- 17 degree is a middle ground between the both Japanese and western style knives (good durability, good sharpness)
- 20 degree is more commonly found on western style knives (better edge durability, less sharp edge)
- 25 & 30 degree is more commonly used for hunting/outdoor knives
- Custom angle between 15-45 degrees.
